Our Teal, Green, Silver and White Vintage Inspired Flocked Christmas Tree

After browsing through Pinterest and dreamily imagining how our home would look at Christmas this year, I had my heart absolutely set on having a flocked Christmas tree. As much as I love white Christmas trees, I don’t like that they don’t look as realistic as green ones. A flocked tree is the perfect marriage of a white and a green tree – just the tips are frosted with faux snow and it looks so, so festive and gorgeous.

When I set my eyes on this stunner of a flocked tree from Lowe’s Canada, I knew it was the one. I loved its shape, the amount of white it had on it, and the fact that it looked so full and real. Doesn’t it look so perfect in our home? I think the softness of it really goes well with our light walls and deep floors.

I actually really like how this tree looks with the lights off – you can really enjoy the snowiness of it (that’s a word, OK?).

When lit, our new tree looks magical too. This Christmas tree comes pre-lit, and I also wrapped it with a set of globe lights for some extra sparkle and dimension. I plugged the globe lights into this white star tree-topper that I also found at Lowe’s. It’s so striking and has the vintage vibe that I love.

The decorations on our tree are a mix of handmade, vintage, ones we had already, and some we purchased from Lowe’s Canada. Normally I like to wrap ribbon or garland around Christmas trees, but this one is so gorgeous that I didn’t want to cover more of it than I had to. For this tree, I stuck to simple, vintage-inspired ornaments. I really like these sparkly, metal snowflakes I found from the Holiday Living Nordic Noel collection at Lowe’s – they’re huge and lovely! I also bought a 24 pack of green, brown, and sparkling white ornaments from the Holiday Living Holiday Lodge collection at Lowe’s. They’re a beautiful addition to my collection and enhance the natural, vintage look of our tree and Christmas decor.

We included our handmade decorations on the tree like these paper book page stars, our recycled baby food jar snow globe ornaments, and I made some simple handmade bows out of upholstery webbing and jute. A mix of old and vintage aqua, turquoise, green and teal plastic and glass balls set off the rest of the ornaments and tie into our Christmas colour scheme this year.

We’ll add our other special ornaments to our new tree each day in December from our DIY ornament-a-day advent calendar.

This year, I placed our tree between our kitchen and our living room and beside the french doors of my office. I have no idea why I didn’t think of this spot for our tree last year – it works so well! The lights of the tree sparkle against the glass of the french doors, and you can see the tree from most of the common areas on our main floor. It’s breathtaking!

Thank you, Lowe’s Canada, for providing us with our new tree this year. I’m so very happy with it and we will use it for many, many years to come. My girls are thrilled that it looks all snowy and festive, and I really like how it coordinates with our home.
