‘Tis the season for homemade gift giving! Edible gifts are some of my favourite kinds of gifts to give to neighbors, teachers and friends. Better yet? A DIY edible gift! This sugar cookies in a jar gift is one of my favourite things to give. Give it on its own, or add it to a gift in a tin for a unique Christmas gift this season.
To make this gift, simply mix 1 1/2 cups of flour with 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda and 1/4 tsp of salt. Pour 1/2 cup of sugar into a mason jar, and then add the flour mixture.
You can find the free printable label and instructions tag for these sugar cookies in a jar here in my Snow Day Survival Kit blog post. Print them off on cardstock and cut them out. Place the round label on the mason jar lid, and twist the lid onto the jar. Punch a hole in the top of the instructions tag, and tie it with a festive ribbon onto the neck of the mason jar. Finish the gift off with a spring of greenery and a copper cookie cutter if you wish.
