It’s day 2 of Gifts in a Tin week! In preparation for Christmas and simple and fun gift giving, I’m putting together some easy gift basket ideas for you. In case you missed yesterday’s Mom’s Day Off in a Tin, here it is. Today’s gift basket idea? Family Game Night in a Tin!
In this gift basket, I’ve used:
- a large tin basket
- a scrap of plaid flannel fabric (for the wrapper around the tin)
- twine string
- a movie
- the game of Uno
- Barrel of Monkeys
- popcorn in a blue mason jar
- mini chocolates
What are some other things you could include in a gift tin like this? What about a puzzle and some soft drinks?

I used a scrap piece of plaid flannel fabric to tie around my tin, but you could also use ribbon or a piece of scrapbook paper. I punched small holes in the tops of the round tags, and tied them around the tin handle with twine.
This gift in a tin would be a fun gift for your friends with kids! It would also make a great Christmas Eve gift tradition to give to your own children so that you could spend the evening playing together.
Come back tomorrow for another unique gift in a tin idea!

I really like this one! Barrel of Monkeys is such a classic game; good for all ages! And your printables are so nice. Another home run, Christina!
