Summertime is officially here, and I can just bet that my girls will be asking for snacks constantly throughout the day. As easy as it is to grab a pre-packaged food or something sugary and void of nutrients, I really want to try to feed my kids nutritious snacks this summer. These frozen banana pops are a really fun treat to have as a snack on a hot day, and they’re really easy to make. They’re really quite tasty, and they’re full of nutrients too.

The bonus that comes with this snack is that it’s fun to make with your kids! It doubles as a snack AND an activity when you’re searching for something different to keep the kids occupied during the day.

Have your kids peel and cut the bananas with a plastic knife, and then you can help them dip the bananas in yogurt, and sprinkle them with cinnamon and granola. Then, show them how to place them gently in the freezer and wait for them to freeze.

This recipe is taken from the Nutrition Corner over at Breakfast for Learning. As Canada’s first and one of the largest charities focusing on nourishing children, Breakfast for Learning has been helping support and sustain school-based breakfast, lunch and snack programs for over 20 years. Operating nationally, Breakfast for Learning funds programs in all 10 provinces and all 3 territories.
