A Winter Ballerina Birthday Party

My 5 year old is a very particular girl. She specified several months ago that she wanted a “ballerina birthday party” this year. Then, a month or so ago, she clarified that she wanted a “winter ballerina bithday party with lots of light pink”.

Of course, I love to make my girls happy and work creatively with what we have to make little dreams into realities for birthday parties!

We had the party at home (like we did for Little A’s birthday party), and with a minimal budget I was able to create a simple dessert table and host a fun party for my 5 year old ballerina. We used lots of things we already had on hand, and the rest was inexpensive and purchased from Etsy or local stores.

I bought printable invitations and bottle wrappers from Sugar Tot Designs.

The bottles of juice were from a grocery store and I popped the labels right over top of the original ones – easy peasy!

The ballerina cake was a semi-fail… but drippy rose icing didn’t seem to stop all of the party-goers from eating it! I bought the vintage ballerina topper from Etsy too. I LOVE this cake stand that I found at our local antique store a couple of weeks ago, One Man’s Treasure. It’s such a classic (and it has a beautiful domed lid)!

I found a pretty glass container with paper cups from Winners, and we used them for our ice cream. The flowers and tins are from my crafty stash!

For treat bags, I simply filled pink glassine bags with candy, folded a paper doily over them, and secured them with a mini paper clip. Vintage ballerina cuteness!

I love changing the chalkboard on this wall seasonally and for birthdays. It’s so fun! Some tulle DIY pom-poms and a sweet doily banner finished the look.

My birthday girl loved her party, and so did her little sister. Success!
