There is no more wonderful time of the year than Christmas, which we spend surrounded by loved ones. Today, I’m sharing 8 creative and fail-proof Christmas table settings to make your space a festive and warm scene for a holiday party, or just for everyday enjoyment.
Christmas Tablescapes for Round Tables
Rustic Glam Breakfast Nook Table Decor
Small round tables lend themselves to a more casual, intimate look. Here, I’ve decorated a breakfast nook in rustic glam style, keeping this casual feel in mind. I used all white, textured dinnerware and chargers with some black and white plaid napkins and faux greenery sprigs. I also added a very simple centerpiece – a few mercury glass trees, mercury glass jar candle holders, and faux evergreen branches for a festive but neutral look.
I kept this space feeling full of whimsy and fun with lots of bright colours and cute accents. For a table centerpiece, I loaded up this old cupcake stand with homemade cupcakes, delightful reindeer ornaments, and DIY dyed bottle brush Christmas trees in reds, pinks and greens. Simple place settings with happy red & cream buffalo plaid napkins are a bright and festive touch.
I kept it very simple in this space for this look, as I loved all the white tones in the room and how they contribute to the feeling of quiet festivity. We made some simple mini gingerbread houses, decorated with candies, to use as an easy (and edible!) centerpiece. Pine branches and copper candlesticks complete this easy table setting!
Rectangular Dining Room Tablescape Ideas
Rustic glam does not have to be complicated or elaborate! I kept to the simple palette of wood, green, gold and white in our dining room for this look. The beautiful floral arrangement centrepiece, the faux eucalyptus garland as a runner, and gold chargers and white and green dishes contribute to the neutral look of this table. Sometimes all you need to do is add simple greenery, and go from there!
For this tablescape, I used soft greens and whites for a calming and peaceful palette. I used my DIY macrame table runner as a base and decorated it with a faux boxwood garland and a sparkly lit garland. I complimented this with aqua and simple white plates, and rattan chargers. Wine glasses and a sprig of faux lavender at each setting complete the simple French country inspired look. As a final touch, I used floral wire to attach some faux greenery and a bow to our orb light fixture. With the lights turned off, it creates such a beautiful, festive mood.
This is a very traditional holiday table. The cozy, sparkly accents combined with frosty greenery and pine cones make for a beautiful green and gold combo. Simple place settings with DIY linen napkins and gold-coloured silverware make this table feel fancy and ready to welcome guests for a Christmas Eve dinner. White plates and chargers and green plates contrast beautifully with metallic bottle brush trees from the dollar store that I used for place card holders. I love how it turned out!
I kept the Christmas décor on this table mostly neutral with pops of green. This table centerpiece is so easy – it’s simply some old mercury glass decorative trees surrounded by real & faux greens and fairy lights. It’s such a minimal look, but so elegant. White and gold plates keep this simple theme going, and thrifted green stemware adds a fun accent to the table.
Sometimes I love purposely choosing Christmas decorations that are non-traditional. Rather than reds and greens, for this table I chose aquas and greens! I started by placing a faux boxwood garland with pinecones in the centre of the table, then added sprigs of faux eucalyptus and real cedar throughout to fill it out. Next, I twirled some aqua wired ribbon through the centrepiece to add a pop of pretty colour. Layered plain white plates over silver doilies, topped with rolled linen napkins that I tied with aqua candy cane ornaments, give this table a playful vibe.
