Spooky Glam Halloween Decor Ideas on a Budget

“Spooky… but not too spooky!” These were the directions 5 year old Little A gave me while we were planning our Halloween decor this year. We don’t usually decorate too much for Halloween, but this year we wanted to do a few things to make our house look “spooky, but not too spooky” for the season!

I thought the perfect room to decorate with some Halloween inspired items was our new dining room.

The almost gothic looking curves of our Keswick dining table from The Brick and the Mansard mirror from The Brick make for a fabulously spooky base for Halloween decor.

Using some inexpensive items from a dollar store and some things I already had on hand, I made this room look nice and spooky… but not too spooky!

On the table, I draped a DIY buffalo check table runner over a dollar store Halloween table cloth. For the centerpiece, I put some dollar store Halloween flowers and twigs from our yard in a black pumpkin bucket.

Thrifted & spray painted candlesticks from my Fall tablescape and some dried oak leaves from my Thanksgiving tablescape complete the simple look.

The sideboard features some more inexpensive faux Halloween foliage from the dollar store along with mini garden pumpkins, black lanterns I had in my stash, and twigs from our yard in vases. I made our mirror look deliciously spooky with an inexpensive net draped over it.

To decorate the wall around the mirror a little, I used my Cricut to cut out some bat shapes (I used this free cut file), and I simply taped them in place.

Our dining room is spooky… but not too spooky for Halloween this year! I love this gothic glam look, and it’s a fun way to decorate for the season.
