An Elegant Thanksgiving Table for 12 in Whites & Creams

Come join me as I prepare an elegant thanksgiving table for 12 in romantic whites and creams with a mix and match style!

I’m excited to be hosting Thanksgiving dinner this coming weekend for our extended family, so to get ready I’ve put together an elegant tablescape using mostly items I already have.

There will be 13 of us, so styling a table for that many people can be a challenge. I think one of the keys is to not be afraid to mix & match different elements to come up with something budget friendly and unique!

I started by purchasing some inexpensive white roses from Costco. The roses and the white pumpkins I already purchased earlier in the season were the inspiration for this creamy coloured table setting. I like that it’s neutral, so it doesn’t compete with our new colourful dining room rug.

I cut the roses down to a few inches, and separated them into groups of 4 or 5 in small drinking glasses. Then, I staggered the arrangements in between my white pumpkins (I used both real and faux), antlers, small votives, larger candles and faux wheat stems. I kept the centerpiece long and skinny to fill a lot of the length of the table.

I love our dining room table (the Keswick Table from The Brick) because it has two leaves you can easily flip out to make it large enough to seat 12 comfortably. (We’re going to add a 13th setting this weekend, but it will be for one of my girls so they can all fit on a bench on one side.)

I used the chairs we had in here already, added my vintage cane chairs at either end, a bench from Little C’s room, and a couple black vintage chairs so that we’d have enough seating. I think the mix-and-match look works, and it helps that everything is in shades of black and white!

As for the individual settings, I started by alternating two different chargers I had – rattan chargers and gold chargers – layering on simple white plates, and topping those with alternating floral and white linen napkins. Again, I mix and match, but try to keep everything mostly neutral so that it all works together.

Simple wine glasses and silver cutlery complete the place settings and now my table is ready for an elegant Thanksgiving dinner after I hardly spent much at all!

Because the centerpiece takes up so much of the table’s real estate, we’ll do what we normally do for large dinners and serve the food buffet-style on our kitchen island.

On our sideboard, I dressed up our coffee station a little with some pumpkin flavoured syrups, copper mugs, and a matching floral towel. You might remember this DIY dollar store tray that I made a few weeks ago!
