A Summer Cocktail Party Made Easy

You might remember that we recently finished a huge kitchen makeover at my sister & brother-in-law’s downtown Edmonton condo. You can see the before & after photos and read all about that right here. To celebrate the renovation, I thought it would be fun to help throw them a fun, summery cocktail party in their beautiful new kitchen! The technology of their new Samsung fridge, stove & dishwasher from The Brick made hosting this party easy & quick. Let me show you!

I was able to fit all of the produce for some simple cold & hot tiki inspired appetizers in my sister’s new Samsung counter-depth refrigerator with room to spare. We chose the counter-depth profile for this fridge because it makes the kitchen look more stylish and a lot more custom. I love how this fridge looks sleek and modern because of its finish and depth, but when you open it up there’s SO much room to store everything!

The LED lighting inside made it easy for me to find what I needed to create our party platters, and the bottom freezer drawer was definitely handy to store all the ice needed for our drinks. This fridge also has Twin Cooling Plus® technology to separately control the temperatures of the refrigerator and freezer compartments. This is a fabulous feature when you’re hosting a party and need food at different temperatures to keep it fresh!

We had a simple charcuterie platter and homemade salsa for the cold food selections, and then for the hot foods I put together two easy appetizers that were absolutely delicious: homemade teriyaki chicken wings and bacon wrapped pineapple bites.

Here’s where the Samsung 5.8 Cu. Ft. Slide-In Electric Flex Duo™ Range with its two ovens came in handy.

The wings and pineapple bites needed to be cooked at different temperatures, so the double oven feature of the Samsung range was perfect! I was able to set the top oven to 425 degrees for the wings, and the bottom one to 375 degrees for the pineapple bites. The LCD touch screen on the oven is intuitive and so easy to use.

Another great feature that I personally love on this appliance is that you can open both of the oven doors together to access both ovens easily, or…

… push a button and just open one door at a time. It was perfect for checking up on my appetizers as they baked!

I also discovered the handy warming drawer at the bottom of the Samsung Range – it was the perfect solution to keep some of the last bits of our hot party food warm for guests that were arriving later in the evening.

For the drinks, my brother-in-law’s friend created some delicious cocktail recipes that were a fabulous addition the party. Signature drinks can make a cocktail party feel extra special, even if they’re really simple!

I had forgotten to give our cocktail glasses a wash before the party began, so the “Express 60” feature on my sister’s Samsung Built-In WaterWall™ Dishwasher with Third Rack came in handy for that!

I threw the glasses in the top rack of the dishwasher (this dishwasher even has a smaller third rack at the top for small items!), hit a button, and the dishes were ready before the party.

And, voila! Crystal clean glasses for our signature tiki style cocktails.
