It’s hard to believe, but Mom’s Lake House will be ready for my parents to move in soon! This project has been over a year in the making, and my parents have worked very hard at finishing the place up all themselves over the past few months. I really admire their hard work and the way that they can make inexpensive finishes look fabulous with DIY custom touches. Today, there’s another room in the home that we’re planning to share with you soon! Let me show you our plans and a mood board for my parents’ classic lake cottage laundry room.
Before we do that, let’s review all of the rooms we’ve finished so far in Mom’s Lake House:
We first finished the master bedroom for the Fall 2017 One Room Challenge. You can see that transformation here.
Here it is dressed up for Christmas:
Next, we worked with Maytag & The Brick and finished the kitchen minus the island and a few details:
You can read about that right here.
As you can see, the feel of Mom’s Lake House is light, bright and welcoming, and we’re not planning on doing anything less in the laundry room which is our next project!
We’re working with Maytag and The Brick again to make this small space beautiful but practical. We picked a well reviewed and much needed steel washer and dryer pair from Maytag that will look beautiful in this classic lake house laundry room. Like the Maytag appliances we used in the kitchen, they’re backed by The Brick’s exclusive Maytag 60 Day Money Back Guarantee. My parents can’t wait to use them!
Here’s the mood board we have for Mom’s Lake House laundry room so far:
- White shaker cabinet doors
- Brushed satin nickel cup pull
- Grey Ironing Board Cover
- Marble countertop
- Subway tile
- Hyacinth Baskets
- Warm white
- Warm grey
- Light grey-green
- Warm blue
- Apothecary Jars
- Keswick Buffet and Hutch from The Brick
- Maytag 5.2 Cu. Ft. Front-Load Washer from The Brick
- Maytag 7.4 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer from The Brick
- Laundry Room Sign
- Galvanized Bin
- Glass pendant light
The look is still light & bright, but with some medium wood tones thrown in for warmth and a rustic feel. The Keswick Buffet & Hutch from The Brick is the perfect example of a medium wood tone that warms up a look completely! It would even make for a great linen closet in a laundry room or hallway.
The laundry room will feature DIY details like custom shelving and cabinetry.
Tell me: What do you think of this laundry room design idea so far? I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas!
