Easy DIY Bathroom Decor Ideas for a 5 Star Hotel Feel

Who doesn’t love the luxurious feeling of entering a 5-star hotel bathroom? Sadly, most of us can’t afford to visit a high end hotel as often as we’d like. But that doesn’t mean we can’t create this luxurious feeling at home! With some easy DIY bathroom decor ideas, you can achieve the same 5-star hotel feel without breaking the bank.

I truly love the spa-like feeling of a clean, relaxing hotel bathroom. To update my own primary bathroom a little, I took a few simple steps to make it feel more like a 5 star hotel! Now, I’m excited to relax here, and the best part is that these updates were budget friendly. Here’s what I did!

Get Rid of Clutter

As much as I prefer decorating over cleaning and organizing, a clean and clutter-free bathroom will instantly feel more like a high-end hotel. Utilize as much closed storage as possible to keep your personal care products up and away from the surfaces in your bathroom. We have IKEA kitchen cabinets as a vanity in our primary bathroom, so I made sure to tuck all of our skincare and other items inside so that our countertops and sink areas looked clean and clear.

Install Mood Lighting

Invest in some ambient lighting that can be dimmed or adjusted to different levels to create a relaxing vibe. You can add dimmer switches to your existing lights or even add some new lighting fixtures, like wall sconces, candles, or pendant lights. LED lighting strips can add a hotel feel, and we have a strip around the top of our shower. This can also help set the tone for a nice bubble bath or a relaxing nighttime routine.

Fluffy White Linens

Nothing says “high end hotel” more than perfectly white, fluffy towels. Swap patterned or stained towels for white ones for that spa-like look. I’m a huge fan of these Amazon towels, and I wash them with Oxiclean White Revive to keep them white. Shaking them after washing and before drying helps keep them feeling soft and fluffy.

You can even roll your towels and display them on an accent table like I did in our bathroom. This marble and gold table was a fantastic antique store score, but you could also upcycle a stool for a similar effect.

Make an Easy DIY Bathtub Tray

Accessorize with Matching Bottles

Rather than filling your bathroom with disjointed pieces, consider accessorizing with matching bottles. You can choose soap dispensers and shampoo containers in a coordinating set that complements your bathroom’s color palette. Incorporate Luxurious Scents

We often forget about how much scents can impact how we feel in a space. Incorporating luxurious smelling scents in your bathroom like eucalyptus, lavender, or citrus can instantly transport you to the spa! Hang some eucalyptus branches over your shower head, light some candles, or invest in a scent machine that fills your bathroom with scented oils.
