Looking for pink Christmas decoration ideas? Come take a tour of our living room decorated for Christmas in a glamorous, romantic style, plus visit 24 other homes all dressed for the Holidays as part of the Canadian Bloggers Home Tour!

This Christmas, I told myself that I was going to “take it easy” on our own decor because I worked so hard at decorating this heritage home for Homes for the Holidays last month. I thought I’d put up a little greenery and call it a day, but once I started decorating our living room last week… I just couldn’t stop. Oops. I had to purchase a lot of new decor including a new Christmas tree because someone bought all the decor I used for the event. Then, I spotted some gorgeous pink velvet ribbon, and then things just spiraled downwards (or upwards?) from there.

If you love glamour, pink, gold, and a bit of “maximalism”, you’ll love this tour of our living room all decorated for Christmas. I’m also excited to be hosting the Canadian Bloggers Home Tour hop with my friend Shannon at Home Made Lovely this week, so make sure to visit all of the other lovely homes for even more Holiday decor inspiration in all sorts of styles and colour palettes.

Welcome to our Christmas living room

We live in a home we built ourselves in 2013, and I recently gave our living room a bit of a makeover. You can read all about that right here (as well as all about our new furniture from The Brick).

Why use pink Christmas decorations?

I’ve always loved how pink looks with grey, so when I came across some pink velvet ribbon with a gold backing at Canadian Tire, it was my inspiration for adding pink into our Christmas decor this year. I know it’s not your typical holiday colour, but pair it with some twinkle lights and warm metallics like champagne gold and copper, and I think it looks very festive!

Our Pink & Flocked Christmas Tree

I bought this tree from Costco Canada online (unfortunately I think I must have bought the last one because they’re all sold out), and I love its flocking. I decorated it with the blush pink velvet ribbon, some metallic striped ribbon, and then a variety of gold ornaments, copper ornaments and white ornaments from Canadian Tire and my stash. Because the pink velvet ribbon is so wide and full, I didn’t add any pink Christmas ornaments. My favourite ornaments? The large gold glass pinecones I found one year at Costco. I use them every single year in my Holiday decor!

I also put some greenery & white glitter berry picks in the tree from Michaels and Canadian Tire. A textured white tree skirt from HomeSense is the finishing touch on this tree.

Under the tree, presents wrapped in green white and gold gift wrap add to the glamourous look of this color palette.

The Romantic Mantel Decor

On our mantel, I started by draping a live greenery garland from Costco over the mantel, and then layering it with a faux eucalyptus garland from IKEA. I added some candlesticks, candles, twinkle lights, and some glittery gold stocking holders from HomeSense. I also hung these handmade stockings on the mantel, and tied some pink ribbon bows around a couple of them for extra Christmas cheer.

Pink, green, and snowy white accents

I also wrapped some faux greenery garlands from Michaels around our chandelier. I love how this makes the chandelier look like a wreath. Then, I draped the furniture with pillows and throws in shades of soft pinks and whites. Lots of furry textures make the space feel cozy and warm, like the addition of these faux fur pillows.

On the coffee table, I created a simple centerpiece with a tin tray, rose gold vases, and a faux peony floral arrangement. Adding some faux cedar stems to the floral bundle gives them more of a Christmas look. Pink roses would also look pretty in this arrangement! A bowl of cookies is always a good addition to a coffee table during the Holidays!

Advent Calendar & Artwork

On the left side of our fireplace, I’ve displayed my DIY mini paper houses advent calender, and it’s been a huge hit! You can find the DIY for that right here. The “Amazing Grace” and “Do All Things with Love” wooden signs in our living room were given to us by William Rae Designs, and you can get 15% you own purchase by using my code THEDIYMOMMY15.

I’m so thrilled with how our romantic & glam pink Christmas living room has turned out – even though it’s completely different than what I had planned, haha! – and I hope you’ve been inspired by it, too. I might just do another pink theme for Christmas next year!
