Canada Day S’mores Bar

My daughters were introduced to s’mores only very recently, and now that they’ve tasted these roasted marshmallow sandwiches from heaven, they’re hooked! As a fun surprise for them for this Canada Day long weekend, I thought it would be fun to set up a patriotic s’mores bar on our patio. Here’s how I set up this cute DIY dessert bar, and how you can make your own Canada Day S’mores bar, too!
We’re still working on a few final details on our back patio, but this little corner is very close to done. A white painted side table and a large basket of Fuschia flowers give this spot some red and white Canadian flare.
To make the s’mores station, I grabbed my favourite wooden 3 tier tray (here’s a similar one) and filled it with all of the elements we need for s’mores making… with a twist. The bottom of the tray has tin baskets of marshmallows, the middle has regular chocolate and some Canada Day coloured M&M candies, and the top tray has graham crackers and a couple of non-traditional s’mores cookie options. I thought the red of these creme cookies and the maple shape of these maple flavoured cookies added just the right colour and shape to our patriotic s’mores bar!
A sprinkling of Canadian confetti, some colour coded roasting forks, and some Duraflame Campfire Roasting Logs ready for the fire complete our s’mores station. These Roasting Logs make it really easy to get a glowing campfire ready to go that’s perfect for cooking marshmallows! They’re easy to transport, and they’re made from 100% renewable resources.
As you can probably tell from my photos, it’s been SO rainy and wet here that we’re a little nervous about our Canada Day outdoor festivities. I’m hoping we’ll be able to finish and use an outdoor fire pit by the weekend, but if not we’ll be roasting our s’mores inside in our fireplace!
Tell me: What’s YOUR favourite summer treat?
