Best Room Makeovers and DIY Projects of 2022

It’s the last day of 2022 and I’m looking back on my favourite DIY projects and best room makeovers of 2022! It’s been such a wonderful year full of creativity. Thank you for following along!

Cozy Living Room Refresh

In January 2022, I shared how to make your home look expensive on a budget, and I also gave our living room a refresh. This budget friendly Cloud Couch dupe and this gorgeous area rug are still my favourites!

IKEA Sideboard Transformation

In February, I gave our 16 year old IKEA sideboard a makeover with paint, hardware and pole wrap material. I love how it turned out, and I also shared how to paint your own IKEA furniture so it lasts.

Walk-In Pantry Makeover for my Mom

My mom and dad put together a gorgeous walk-in pantry makeover in March 2022 with custom drawers, shelves, and tons of storage. I shared it on YouTube and here on the blog!

RV Bedroom Makeover

In April, I gave the final two rooms in Our DIY Camper 2.0 a makeover – the main bedroom and bathroom! I love the deep green feature wall in the bedroom, and we had an amazing time road tripping with this rig across the States in May.

Basement Makeover for my Friend

Sean and I made over my friend Danielle’s basement living room area in May. It was a complete transformation from an unfinished basement to a play room / office / living room combination and the finished look is incredible! I love all the hidden storage.

Bathroom Makeover for my Friend

In addition to the living area and the basement bedroom (check the bedroom makeover out here!), we also renovated my friend Danielle’s basement bathroom. I love the modern rustic look!

Little Lake House Deck Refresh with DIY Planter Boxes

In July 2022, I gave our Little Lake House deck a refresh with some DIY planter boxes, flowers, chairs and happy yellow throw pillows.

Fall Living Room Refresh

To celebrate the coming of Fall in August, I gave our living room another refresh for the season and shared my favourite Fall 2022 trends and how to get them on a budget.

Tiny Lake House Exterior Makeover

We bought a tiny little lake house this year to renovate into our second vacation rental, and in September we gave its exterior a makeover. The dark green paint and cedar coloured wood porch is one of my favourite combos ever!

Tiny Entryway & Small Bedroom Makeover

In October 2022, we gave the small bedroom and the tiny entryway in our Tiny Lake House makeovers too. These were challenging rooms to renovate because they were so small, but I’m very pleased with how they turned out!

Small Kitchen Makeover

Finally, in December, we completely made over the tiny kitchen in our Tiny Lake House. This was also a hard room to tackle because of its small size! I adore how this one turned out too, and I can’t wait to tackle the final spaces in this little cabin.
