It’s no secret that I love purchasing home decor items at IKEA. Their prices are great, and they always seem to have the best solutions for organizing small spaces. Here are my top 10 favourite things to buy from IKEA!

Storage solutions for small spaces

From their narrow shoe cabinets to their shelving, IKEA is a goldmine for storage solutions for smaller spaces. You might remember my narrow hallway makeover where I used 2 IKEA Stall shoe cabinets to create a more functional entryway for our home. IKEA’s shelving systems are also a great buy and help keep your smaller home organized and tidy!

Down pillow inserts

I’ve used IKEA’s down pillow inserts almost exclusively for years. At only $8 CDN per insert, they’re a great deal (and a great size at 20 x 20″). Keep a stash of several inserts and swap pillow covers seasonally for a budget-friendly decor change.

Baskets

Whether you need square baskets to fit IKEA’s shelving perfectly, or larger baskets to store linens, IKEA has a variety to choose from. I use their square baskets a lot in my home, and my favourite basket right now is the SNIDAD Basket.

Kitchen cabinets

We’ve had our IKEA kitchen for over 7 years, and I absolutely love it. Their kitchens are affordable, have a ton of interior organization options, and they’re durable. You can read my IKEA kitchen review right here.

Picture frames

Need to create an epic gallery wall with a variety of sizes of picture frames on a budget? IKEA is a good place to find these! I love their simple white RIBBA frames.

Picture ledges

IKEA’s picture ledges are also a wonderful way to decorate your walls on a budget. You can place pictures on them, but consider placing toys and books on them too!

Mirrors

I just gave our breakfast nook a light & bright update and found the perfect round mirror at IKEA. The best part? It was only $75 CDN! Check out their mirror selection for more fabulous finds.

Faux greenery

Tucked away in the last section of IKEA’s marketplace area is a great selection of faux greenery. I especially love their faux eucalyptus stems because they’re affordable and look great. Use them to decorate for every season! I love how the look in our breakfast nook (and LOVE these rattan chairs I found)!

Drapes & curtains

I’ve purchased IKEA curtains and drapes my whole adult life and love them for a couple of reasons. First, they’re really long so I can hang them nice and high. Second, they’re such a great price! You can find curtains for $12.99 a pair at IKEA!

Dinnerware

For budget-friendly cups, mugs, plates and bowls, IKEA has a great selection. My first dinnerware set after I moved out of my parents’ home was from IKEA, and my current favourite line there is the GLADELIG line that looks like handmade pottery.
