How to make a crochet chain Easter egg:
Use your favourite fuzzy yarn and a hook that’s appropriate for the yarn (look on the yarn packaging for a recommended size) and create a long crochet chain. Leave your hook in the chain just in case you need to chain a little more to wrap around your egg. Apply a thin bead of fabric glue to the top center of a white plastic egg from the dollar store and begin winding the crochet chain around the egg. You can tuck the raw end of the yarn underneath your winding chain. Continue applying glue to the egg and winding the yarn around the egg. Make sure that each row of yarn is tightly against the previous row so that little of the egg shows through. Crochet more loops on your chain if needed to make the chain long enough to wrap around your egg. Finish by cutting the yarn and pulling the end of the yarn through the final chain loop. Tuck the raw end of the yarn under the chain. You can make a few of these to display in an Easter or Spring centerpiece at your dining table or coffee table. Have your kids make crochet chains in various bright colours to decorate their own eggs for Easter. Use your favourite yarns in fun patterns and textures.
